POLYMER invites viewers into the liminal space where reality dissolves into memory. In this groundbreaking exhibition, photographer Masaya Goino captures ephemeral moments that exist between presence and absence, weaving transient figures into landscapes of profound emotional resonance.
Through deliberately blurred forms and spectral imagery, Goino rejects rigid definitions and embraces ambiguity as a portal to universal truths. His works are not mere documentation but philosophical inquiries into existence itself—where fragmented memories and quiet resistance coexist in delicate balance.
The exhibition title “POLYMER” references invisible structures that connect disparate elements, much like how these photographs bind viewers to unspoken nostalgia and collective consciousness. Subjects neither surrender to despair nor cling to false certainty; instead, they inhabit a state of contemplative becoming.
Visitors are invited to slow down, to see beyond the noise of modern life, and discover the stillness that awaits within these haunting images. Each photograph offers a moment of introspection—a chance to redefine perception and awaken to the poetry of existence.
Artist Biography
Masaya Goino (b. Tokyo, 1972) holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Tokyo University of Science and completed a Printmaking Program at Bigakko. After 25 years of research in polymer materials, he transitioned to contemporary art, exhibiting in Japan, France, Taiwan, and Italy.
