Michael Nischke: B/W PANORAMA

Michael Nischke, the German photographer who first came to Taiwan to hold a solo exhibition, exhibited 37 pieces of black and white panorama photos.  These collection of documentary includes prints from almost the past 25 years, shot with special panorama cameras in different places in Europe,  Asia and Africa.

With his cameras Michael Nischke captures mostly city landscapes. He uses still film in his cameras, a tripod and long exposures.  The prints are handmade in the darkroom. “Slow photography“ and „Unplugged photography“ describes his work of art. Like a storyteller he reports with many details the moment of capture. One can compare his photographs with a short film which compresses the scene.

This exhibition was first time hold in Tokyo in April 2019 and then in Munich in November 2019.  The photographs are printed on silver gelatin paper.

You are welcome to join the art talk with artist Michael Nischke on Saturday, February 8th, sharing stories of every place he has been to.
