Atsushi Yoshie: Exit Town

Award-winning photographer Atsushi Yoshie captures the poetry of his hometown through his lens.

We are delighted to present the award-winning series “Exit Town” by Atsushi Yoshie, recipient of the prestigious 25th Jun Miki Award (2024). Making its debut at 1839 Contemporary Gallery in Taipei, this exhibition offers a compelling journey through the artist’s contemplative vision of his hometown.

Through his masterful lens, Yoshie transforms seemingly ordinary landscapes into extraordinary visual narratives. His photographs reveal the quiet beauty in emptiness, the pulse of life at the urban periphery, and the delicate dialogue between human presence and nature. Each image invites viewers to discover profound meaning in the overlooked, challenging our conventional perceptions of beauty and significance in landscape photography.
